Everyone uses open source software. This seems like a rather bold statement to make. However, if you have ever used Google or Wikipedia, you have used Web sites built upon the open source model.
OS4Me.com wants to help users use Open Source software. To do this, we are designing top quality free and paid training for Open Source software. This will help bridge the open source software community and end users. The initial offerings will be for more popular open source software which is available across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux).
This project is funded by client of Michael Mann Desktop Publishing. In addition, funds raised through Affiliate sources such as Amazon.com help move forward free and paid training through this web site.
The Open Source model brings the power to customize the software how you use it. Sure it can bring along a low to zero price tag, but the beauty of open source is the community behind it. Programmers, graphic designers, document writers and more pour their heart, soul and sweat into making the very best possible software. Does this mean it comes without bugs? Absolutely not. But with a community behind the software, bugs are often fixed more rapidly then their closed source counterpart.
Do We Hate Closed Source Software?
Of course not. We realize that there are times when closed source software needs to be used. However, if there is a reasonably equivalent open source program, we will push the open source program over its closed source every day of the week.
Disclaimer: We are in no way affiliated with any open source program. We make no money pushing one program over another. We design our training in a way to allow the end user to use the software. Nothing more.
OS4Me.com aims to be the #1 source for all things open source software related, as well as open source training.
